
Liberty County 4-H Mounted Drill Team was originated in 1968 by Mr.
Tommy Small of Liberty, Texas. Over the years, Liberty County 4-H
Mounted Drill Team has grown
to become a group of students and families that come together to support one
another in their goals and expectations in a competitive arena.
The Liberty County 4-H Mounted Drill Team is a group of students between the ages of 9-18 that are divided in to two separate teams. "A" - Senior Team and "B" - Junior Team. Each team performs with classic drill team precision and ceremonial style while promoting good horse etiquette and riding skills.
The "B" Team is the starting point. Here the riders learn how to synchronize in line formations, change leads and other basic riding and drill techniques. They learn horsemanship, responsibility, respect for other and their horse, commitment, and sportsmanship. These riders are expected to be committed and dedicated to attending meetings, practices and events.
The "A" Team is the advanced group of riders that have fulfilled the expectations of "B" Team and are experienced in handling their horses in a well controlled and safe manner.

Liberty County 4-H Mounted Drill Team follows the U.I.L. Scholastic requirements. "NO PASS, NO PLAY" Each member must maintain a passing grade to perform in any competitions. Members are allowed to attend practices while grades are below ..
